Clipped-dot designs are made with low-twist filling yarns inserted by separate shuttles. By manipulating the shedding, the extra yarns interlace with some warp yarns and float across the back of others. A box loom uses a wire along the edge to prevent the extra yarns from being woven into the selvage. Clipped-dot fabrics have many yarn ends per dot. | |
